While we believe there is no BEST birth position, we do love the side-lying birth position! Why? Well, it can be used with an epidural or without. It takes pressure off the low back, back of pelvis and the tailbone. It is a nice resting position… the list goes on. Check out our quick video that demonstrates how to use this birthing position.

Side-Lying Labour and Pushing Position

We love when women head into birth with as much information as possible! Don’t you feel like you understand the side-lying birth position a little better now? Hopefully it is a helpful position for you while you labour and push.

You are welcome to use a couple of pillows between your knees or how have a partner hold up your leg, but if you are looking for the birthing peanut balls that we often talk about, you can find them HERE and (a more affordable one) HERE. Remember, if you purchase from our links we get a little bit of profit, so thank you so much for your support!

If you prefer to read more about this birth position, you can check out our blog on the same topic HERE.

Maybe you are interested in learning more about how to prepare your core and pelvic floor for birth?
